BJP has been ruling Delhi indirectly: Dhruv Rathee on AAP's defeat
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Well-known YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, who has been critical of the Centre- the BJP, the party’s ideology and its leaders- has reacted to Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) defeat in the national capital by accusing the BJP in the Centre. He said that AAP was defeated after the BJP’s malicious scheme, which intentionally delayed all the projects Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP introduced in Delhi. He said that the BJP has been indirectly ruling Delhi since 2023 after enacting the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) Amendment Act.
According to him, the prime reason behind AAP’s defeat was the lack of work done in the Union territory over the past few years, and this was because the BJP-led Centre halted most of the AAP government's operations. He added that the Centre's interferences include halting orders by utilizing LG to employ its agencies to imprison leaders on fabricated charges and enacting new legislation.
In his recent X post, he wrote, "AAP lost because no work has been done in Delhi for the last few years. And that is because BJP did everything possible to stall the whole functioning of the government. From using LG to halt orders, to their agencies jailing leaders under fake cases to passing new laws. Ever since the GNCTD Act of 2023, Delhi has already being indirectly ruled by BJP. It’s good that people of Delhi can now directly see who is really responsible for all their issues. The only question is whether people will still continue to talk about issues of air pollution, Yamuna pollution, crumbling infrastructure and cleanliness in the coming years. Or will BJP be successful in brainwashing and suppressing people to ignore all this in the name of religious hatred like they’ve done in many other states."
