New Delhi: Aishwarya Sridhar became the first woman to bag Wildlife Photographer of the Year in a competition hosted by the London Museum of Natural History for her photograph titled "Lights of Passion". The picture depicts a tree lit at night by the glow of fireflies.

Over 50,000 entries were submitted for the 56th edition of the international competition. The winning photo by Aishwarya was clicked on a nighttime trek.

"A big moment for India and for me as a young wildlife photographer," Aishwarya tweeted. "Being the first and youngest girl to win this award from India in the Adult category, its a huge honour for me to receive this award !! Thank you to the entire Jury and WPY team."
