Veteran actor Arun Bali died this morning at 79 in Mumbai, reports quoting his family said. The actor, last seen in Aamir Khan starrer 'Laal Singh Chaddha', died of a rare neurological disease for which he was hospitalized earlier this year.

Reports say the senior actor was suffering from Myasthenia Gravis - a chronic autoimmune, neuromuscular disease that causes weakness in the skeletal muscles that worsens after periods of activity.

Bali, a seasoned actor, and a well-known face has the last release today called "Goodbye" where he starred with Amitabh Bachchan, Neena Gupta, and Rashmika Mandanna.

Known for his work in several films and television series, Bali is well-remembered for his role in the 1991 period drama Chanakya where he played King Porus. He was also seen in "Hey Ram", "3 Idiots" and "Kedarnath" among others.

Fans paid tributes to the actor on Twitter. "How tragic life is. He has his film, all set to be released today, but he isn't. What a fine actor," wrote one user.

"RIP Arun Bali. Remember him in 3 Idiots as Rancho's father. Remember him in one of my favorite interval blocks ever. PK. As a Sardar who begs money to give his wife an anniversary treat. He was also there in LSC (Laal Singh Chaddha) as a train passenger," another user wrote.
