80-year-old grandma wows netizens after running Mumbai Marathon

The marathon saw a record-breaking turnout with Mumbai’s residents running together for various causes, according to The Hindustan Times.
People across age groups from children to senior residents joined the marathon, keeping the spirit alive.
But a thin old woman in saree running with a tricolor in her hands surprised everyone.
Many couldn’t believe she was contesting the marathon where people her age would rather sit home complaining about a knee injury.
The granddaughter of the 80-year-old did not want people to miss out on the elderly woman’s great feat.
Dimple Mehta Fernandes posted on Instagram Bharti’s footage from the marathon.
Bharti completed 4.2 kilometres of marathon in 51 minutes, getting praise from netizens.
Dimple Mehta Fernandes wrote in the caption that old woman’s sheer will and grit were quite inspiring.
People praised the woman profusely with one user saying that she was an inspiring “ sweetheart”
Another user congratulated the old woman saying ‘”Great going. Keep it up”.
