Pushpa 2: Allu Arjun asked makers of 'Chhaava' to postpone release
text_fieldsEntertainment: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun was heard saying in a video that he asked the makers of Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava to postpone its release to avoid a clash with his own pan-Indian flick Pushpa 2: The Rule.
The video circulating on the internet shows Arjun saying that he contacted someone from Hindi cinema for the same, and they were accommodative and postponed Chhaava’s release, NDTV reported.
"When I called up one of the filmmakers from Bollywood, from Hindi cinema, I'm not a fan of that word Bollywood. I called somebody at the Hindi cinema, and I said they were also supposed to come on December 6. They were very accommodating, and they moved from that date. I personally called them and thanked them for moving the date, and they said, 'We're all fans of Pushpa', and if you come, then we will make way for it," NDTV quoted the actor.
Chhaava was scheduled to be released on December 6.
So far, Pushpa 2 has broken all the standing box officer records. It collected Rs 1,232.30 crore in India while grossing more than Rs 1,738 crore globally, as reported by Sacnilk.
The release of Pushpa 2 caught in an unfortunate incident of stampede, death of a woman and severe injuries to her son. Allu Arjun has been named in a FIR registered as part of the incident, and he was arrested before being released on bail.
In the meantime, Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava is set to release on big screens on February 14. The period drama narrates the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film features Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana and Divya Datta in pivotal roles.
