The Maharashtra Police have registered a first information report (FIR) against all individuals involved in the controversial episodes of the comedy talent show 'India’s Got Latent'. Yashasvi Yadav, Inspector General of the Maharashtra Police’s Cyber Cell, confirmed on Monday that the FIR was filed against “all members who played roles in all episodes” of the show. Authorities also ordered the removal of all videos under investigation and directed the deactivation of the show's account until the inquiry is completed.

So far, a total of 42 people, including artists, producers, and content creators, have been summoned in connection with the matter. The FIR follows a recent controversy sparked by remarks made by YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia during a February 9 episode. Allahbadia, known for his podcast 'BeerBiceps', posed an explicit and inappropriate question to a contestant, suggesting incest, in line with the show’s pattern of provocative humor.

In response to the controversy, the Union government filed a complaint, leading to the removal of the episode by YouTube on February 11. The same day, the Maharashtra Police registered an FIR against 30 individuals, including judges and contestants who had appeared on the show. Samay Raina, the host, subsequently deleted all other episodes from his YouTube channel.

During the investigation, police found that both judges and contestants on the show had used vulgar and obscene language. The Indore Police also initiated an investigation into the issue on February 11, but no FIR has been filed in that jurisdiction. Meanwhile, Assam Police booked Samay Raina, content creators Apoorva Mukhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Allahbadia for allegedly engaging in “sexually explicit and vulgar discussions” during the show.

On Monday, Yadav clarified that the FIR specifically named Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ranveer Allahbadia as accused. Comedian Devesh Dixit and television personality Raghu Ram, who had appeared as guests on the show, have also had their statements recorded as part of the ongoing investigation.
