American singer Demi Lovato is all set to make her directorial debut with the documentary 'Child Star'. As the name suggests, the project is about child stardom. Lovato herself grew up in front of the camera.

She will be co-directing with Nicola Marsh and the documentary will be released on Hulu in 2024. The feature-length documentary will showcase the perspective of famous former child stars and look into what it is like to live with cameras recording their every move.

"Through intimate conversations led by Lovato, verité footage, and archival material from all subjects involved, the film will reach beyond the traditional narratives seen in op-eds and tabloids to consider the changing nature of growing up in an increasingly connected and public world," said the press release.

Lovato in a statement said that there is no better directorial debut for her because the subject matter hits close to home. She struggled with addiction and gender identity since her teen years and recently came out as gender fluid.

Producers OBB Pictures of Michael D. Ratner, DLG – Lovato’s production banner, and SB Projects of Scooter Braun will be working with Lovato.
