BLACKPINK singer Lisa sets new Spotify record with 1.8 billion streams
text_fieldsLisa from K-pop band BLACKPINK continues to make waves in the K-pop music scene, this time by achieving an incredible milestone of accumulating 1.8 billion streams across all credits on Spotify.
She is now recognised as the fastest K-pop female soloist to reach this remarkable achievement.
Lisa reached this milestone with just four songs to her name, achieving this distinction in a mere 768 days.
Her single "MONEY" holds a significant portion of these streams and has received more plays than any other song she has contributed to. In fact, "MONEY" now holds the official Guinness World Record for being the first K-pop solo track to achieve over a billion streams on the Spotify platform.
This achievement sets Lisa apart in the K-pop landscape, surpassing other solo songs, excluding collaborations.
Jimin's "Like Crazy" has reached 603 million streams, and Jennie's "Solo" has garnered 543 million streams, making Lisa's feat even more remarkable.
Lisa's recent achievements extend to her solo debut with the title track "LALISA" from her first solo album of the same name. The song quickly gained international recognition and ascended to the top of various global charts.
One song from her album, "MONEY," also captured fans' hearts and achieved a significant milestone. Guinness World Records officially recognised "MONEY" on September 27, 2023, as it crossed the astounding threshold of one billion streams on Spotify.
This made Lisa the first K-pop solo artist to reach such a high number of plays on the platform.
Furthermore, "MONEY" now stands as BLACKPINK's most-streamed song, surpassing "How You Like That," which had 855 million listens as of September 21. Beyond its streaming achievement, "MONEY" also claimed the title of the most-viewed K-pop music video released in 2021, surpassing BTS' "Butter," which previously held that record with 915 million views.
