New Delhi: Elon Musk is on a roll just as the takeover of Twitter is on the cards, plus being the richest man today.

Now Fortune 500 finds him as the top paid chief executive officer, taking home a salary of about $23.5 billion.

That is quite an eye-watering wad of currencies worth Rs 1, 82,576 crore in Indian terms.

Musk, who leads Tesla and SpaceX, has got by far the fattest paycheck any CEO ever received, according to the magazine.

Others on the list who made good include Tim Cook of Apple, Satya Nadella of Microsoft, Reed Hastings, who leads Netflix.

Cook was paid $770.5 million for the year 2021, made up by a 10-year grant of shares worth $1.7 billion.

His stint at the helm of Apple recorded a spiked market value by $2.2 trillion.

The big name to follow Cook on the list was Nvidia's Jensen Huang who received $561 million as compensation in 2021.

Netflix's Reed Hastings got in the fourth spot making $453.5 million last year.

Netflix's spokesperson disputed the report saying Hastings took home only $40.8 million.

At 7 th spot, Microsoft's Satya Nadella was paid $309.4 million last year, who was voted 'the most underrated" CEO in 2021.

He has been heading the company for six consecutive years.
