New Delhi: Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has over taken Tesla CEO Elon Musk to become the world’s richest person, amassing a fortune worth $200.3 billion, Bloomberg Billionaires Index said.

After reigning at the top spot for long, Musk is now pegged at $197.7 billion just as he has reportedly lost $31 billion.

Jeff Bezos is found to have gained $23 billion in the past year.

Musk’s slipping down to second position comes in the wake of Tesla’s share shakeup of a 7.2 percent on March 4, according to NDTV.

A Delaware court’s ruling against his $55 billion pay package, calling it as excessive, could become a challenge to Musk.

The net worth gap between two billionaires previously stood at $142 billion, while marking a remarkable shrinking over the years.

Both companies are among the ‘Magnificent Seven’ that accelerates American stock market.

Where Amazon’s shares spiked more than double since 2022, Tesla’s shares nosedived by nearly 50 percent from its peak in 2021.

Nevertheless selling worth $8.5 billion, Bezos is still the largest stakeholder in his company.

Jeff Bezos made it to the top on the Bloomberg list for the first time in 2017 when Microsoft founder Bill Gates lost his title.

In January 202, Elon Musk had over taken Bezos becoming the richest person with a net worth of $195 billion.

Meanwhile, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani pulled off 11th and 12th spots respectively with a net worth of $115 billion and $104 billion.
