Popular Canadian coffee brand Tim Hortons has opened its first two stores in the India edition in Delhi-NCR. The iconic brand's entry into India is testimony to the growing demand for coffee in the country.

Delhi is known for its hip young crowd that is eager to try new things, especially food. It is no surprise that Tim Hortons decided to start its Indian journey in the capital city. The two new outlets are in Select Citywalk, Saket and DLF Cyberhub, Gurgaon.

Tim Hortons now has over 5,300 outlets across 13 countries including the Middle East, China, the UK, Mexico, Spain, Thailand, and the Philippines. Its entry to India comes at the right time as the market has been warming up well to artisanal coffee brands like Blue Tokai and Third Wave Coffee Roasters amongst others.

Being a popular brand with an eye for design, Tim Hortons is expected to take off in Delhi.

The warm and comforting interiors of Tim Horton's Delhi outlets are at par with their stores in Canada. The expensive and iconic menu has coffee and other food items along with other beverages and snacks. A popular one is French Vanilla, the Iced Capp - a blended frozen coffee beverage. The prepared-to-order food and baked goods including Timbits are also top of the list.

Navin Gurnaney, CEO of the Tim Hortons franchise in India, said the company in March announced the decision to open hundreds of stores in India over the next 10 years. "Today's news is the first step in that exciting commitment. Tim Hortons is not just a popular coffee chain, it's an experience. We are starting with Delhi NCR and will be opening outlets in the state of Punjab in the coming months."

Thiago Santelmo, President of RBI EMEA, the parent company of Tim Hortons, said the leadership is very excited to bring Tim Hortons to India. "With over 55 years of coffee heritage, Tim Hortons has captured the hearts and taste buds of Canadians." He added that the company is confident that Indians will love its premium quality coffee and food. "Entering India shows our ongoing commitment to serving more guests around the world."
