New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department reported that Delhi experienced scorching heat on Sunday as the maximum temperature soared to 41.1 degrees Celsius, marking the hottest day of the season thus far.

This reading surpassed the previous highest temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius recorded on April 27.

Throughout the day, the relative humidity fluctuated between 19% and 63%, adding to the discomfort caused by the intense heat.

According to forecasts by the weather office, Delhi can expect mainly clear skies on Monday, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 41 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius.

This spike in temperature signals the onset of peak summer conditions in the national capital, prompting residents to brace themselves for more days of scorching heat ahead.
