Actress Lena, known for her role in "Sneham," surprised fans by revealing her marriage to Prasanth Nair, a Gaganyaan astronaut.

Their traditional wedding ceremony took place on January 17, 2024, arranged in a manner that aligns with their cultural traditions.

On Tuesday, Malayalam actor Lena made the revelation in her Instagram account, disclosing her marriage to Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. This announcement came shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's naming of Nair as one of the four astronauts undergoing training for the pioneering Gaganyaan mission.

Alongside the announcement, the 'Sneham' actor shared a photo of herself and Prasanth with ISRO Chairman S Somanath. Lena said that she had been awaiting this significant moment to share with everyone that she and Nair had entered into matrimony through an arranged marriage on January 17.

Lena expressed her pride in witnessing a historic moment as Prime Minister Modi awarded the first Indian Astronaut Wings to Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot, Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, on February 27, 2024. She described it as a significant moment of national pride for India, the state of Kerala, and herself personally.

"I have been waiting for this announcement to share with you that I married Prasanth on January 17, 2024, in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage, in adherence to the necessary confidentiality requirements," Lena stated.

The Nair family, hailing from Nenmara in Palakkad district, was not immediately available for comment.

Earlier in the day, the residents of Nenmara celebrated with joy as the Prime Minister revealed the names of the four astronauts, including Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. The other three astronauts named were Group Captains Angad Pratap, Ajit Krishnan, and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla.
